Get ready to don your lederhosen and dirndls because the Village Hall is transforming into a slice of Bavaria for our annual Oktoberfest celebration! Join us for an unforgettable evening of authentic German beer, traditional music, hearty food, and lively festivities that pay homage to one of Germany’s most beloved cultural events.
A Taste of History
Oktoberfest traces its origins back to 1810 in Munich, when Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. The citizens of Munich were invited to join in a grand horse race and festival, marking the occasion. Over the years, this royal celebration evolved into the world-famous beer festival we know today, complete with music, dancing, parades, and, of course, large quantities of beer brewed according to centuries-old German traditions. By bringing Oktoberfest to our village hall, we aim to honor that rich history while creating a local community celebration filled with warmth, laughter, and cheer.
Authentic German Beer
Central to any Oktoberfest is the beer! Germany is renowned for its Reinheitsgebot, the “Purity Law” of 1516, which dictated that only water, barley, and hops could be used in beer brewing (yeast was later understood to be essential). This law ensured centuries of exceptional quality and craftsmanship in brewing, giving German beers their distinctive clarity, flavor, and smoothness. At our event, you’ll find a variety of German-style lagers, Märzen, and wheat beers, allowing you to sip and savor centuries of brewing tradition. Hopefully we won't run out this time

No Oktoberfest is complete without music! We will bring the lively rhythms of oompah bands to the Village Hall. Guests can join in traditional dances, clap along to polkas, and experience the jovial atmosphere that makes Oktoberfest a celebration unlike any other. Whether you’re tapping your feet to a Bavarian folk song or raising your stein in a hearty “Prost!” to new friends, the music and energy will transport you straight to southern Germany.
Delectable German Cuisine
The celebration wouldn’t be complete without authentic German fare! From pretzels the size of your head to savory sausages, schnitzel, sauerkraut, and potato salads, our menu pays tribute to the hearty dishes that fuel festival-goers in Bavaria. Vegetarian options and sweet treats, including apple strudel and Black Forest cake, ensure everyone can join in the indulgence. I mean, maybe, I haven't a clue what the food will be.

While Oktoberfest is steeped in history and tradition, it is above all a celebration of community, friendship, and joy. Our Village Hall will be adorned with blue and white Bavarian flags, festive garlands, and cozy long tables where neighbors and friends can gather to toast, laugh, and make lasting memories.
